Meet the ED in Expecting EDucation!

Hi! I’m Emily Doyle and I have had the joy of attending births as a nurse for 11 years. One of my favorite roles as a nurse is being an educator. I try to teach my patients as much as I can because knowledge and education brings comfort to the birth space. But only so much education can go on during the throes of labor! That is why a childbirth preparation class prior to birth is essential. It is the best investment for you and your baby.

Your baby may not remember what outfit they wore right after birth. But YOU will remember this birth forever and how it made you feel. My goal is to prepare you with evidenced based information for you to make decisions throughout your labor and birth.

During the course, I sprinkle in my stories as a nurse in a hospital, as a nurse at a birth center, and as a mom who has been in your shoes! So, no matter your intended birth location and your goals for birth-this class is for you! This is a judgement free zone and I will provide education catered to your goals.

What does class look like?

This class is designed to equip you with knowledge so you can make informed decisions and leave your baby’s birth feeling empowered. This class is interactive and makes learning fun! I understand your time is valuable and I want this to be learning you look forward to.

This is a private class; you will get one-on-one education in the comfort of your home. We will meet twice, each session lasting 2 and a half hours. All materials are provided. This package also includes 3 follow up emails for support and questions leading up to the birth.

Why this class?

There are so many choices when having a baby. I know you don’t want to have to stress about which childbirth preparation to purchase. There are many resources at your fingertips on the internet, but preparing your body for the work of labor is something that requires hands-on learning. You just can’t get that virtually. That is why all my courses are in person.

How much does it cost?

$350 for private class series. If you have fellow expecting parents and would like a class together, group rates are available.

Total package:
This class covers A-Z! We’ll spend time getting comfortable with what birth looks like, ways to cope with contractions, and the stages of labor. You’ll learn optimal positions to achieve a physiologic birth and ways to prepare your body for this marathon.

Most classes stop the education right there. But the postpartum period (the time right after having a baby) is some of the most vulnerable and difficult times and I deep dive into ways to prepare yourself and your support network.

Planned Cesarean Section?
I offer a virtual c-section prep course for $150. This preparation course will answer your questions and set you up for a smooth recovery. As a nurse in the operating room, I can provide in depth information on the experience and postpartum journey.
